Chelsea have reached an agreement with AC Milan for midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko to return to the Italian side. That’s according to Sky Italia, who say the two sides have finally worked out a loan deal for the Frenchman.Bakayoko has been linked with a move to the San Siro, where he spent the 19/20 season on loan, for several weeks after it was made clear there was no place for him at Stamford Bridge.Negotiations between the two sides have been ongoing, and earlier today we covered a report from Gazzetta Dello Sport that said the talks were going slowly as Chelsea were demanding more money after finding the initial offers from Milan ‘unconvincing’.Embed from Getty ImagesIt was claimed they wanted the same deal they struck in 2018, a loan worth €5m with a right to buy set at €35m.However, it seems they’ve lowered their demands, and Sky Italia now say the two clubs have a ‘basis of understanding’ on a loan deal worth €3m with a right of redemption at €30m.Milan already have an agreement in place with the Chelsea midfielder over his wages – he’s willing to give up part of his salary – but that is only for the year he will spend on loan. Thus, they need to find an agreement on the years after that should they decide to turn his move into a permanent one so that everything can be ‘clearly defined’.However, the negotiation ‘goes ahead quickly’ and Sky state there is a ‘desire’ from all parties to close it ‘as soon as possible’ as the Blues look to start shipping some players out after a busy summer of incomings so far.by Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayForge of Empires – Free Online GameIf You Like to Play, this City-Building Game is a Must-Have. Paul Pogba will complete his Manchester United medical after being given permission by Juventus to travel to England. CEST 07/08/2016 Jose Mourinho stated on Friday that he wanted the deal to be done before United’s Premier League opener against Bournemouth on August 14 and the former Real Madrid coach is about to finally get a player he and United have been after all summer. Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri caused a momentary period of confusion when he said that he expected Pogba to return to training on Monday, but all now appears that the deal will be confirmed in the near future. Luke Salvin-Hughes Pogba won four successive Serie A titles in Turin and has established himself as one of the most highly rated players in world football. Upd. at 20:59 The 23-year-old, the subject of a world record fee in the region of 120 million euros, is set to complete his transfer back to Old Trafford having left the Red Devils in 2012. United confirmed the news on the club’s official Twitter account on Sunday afternoon before the Community Shield against Leicester City.
Donegal’s 2012 All-Ireland winning manager Jim McGuinness has emerged as a surprise contender to take over at Galway United. McGuinness indicated back in January that he would focus on a coaching role after leaving his role as assistant coach to Chinese Super league club Beijing Sinobo Guoan for what they describe as “personal, family reasons”, and today the Irish Sun is reporting that he is in the frame to succeed Shane Keegan in the hot-seat. Keegan left Galway by mutual consent during the mid-season break. McGuinness spent five years with Glasgow Celtic before joining the Beijing club under coach Roger Schmidt. The 45-year-old recently completed his UEFA A Licence and has made little secret of his desire to become a manager. It comes on the back of a proposed takeover by two Saudi Arabian businessmen of the club which was accepted by the supporters Co-Op last week.print WhatsApp Facebook Twitter Email

19 May 2014South African President Jacob Zuma has expressed concern over the activities of armed rebels on the continent, and has called on the African Union (AU) to take steps to bring about stability.Zuma’s call, made in a statement on Sunday, come in the wake of the abduction of 200 schoolgirls in Nigeria and the bomb attacks that left 10 people dead in Kenya last week.He said the AU’s Standby Force needed capacity, adding that South Africa aimed to discuss the security situation on the continent at the next African Union Peace and Security Council gathering.“It is crucial to build a stronger and a well-resourced African Union to take forward the promotion of peace, security and the socio-economic advancement of the continent,” Zuma said.“Part of the capacity needed by the AU is the establishment of the African Standby Force for rapid deployment in crisis areas without delays.”Zuma also spoke out on the abduction of Nigerian schoolgirls by militant Islamist group Boko-Haram, calling on the kidnappers to release the children without further delay.Regarding the bombing and killing of civilians in Kenya, Zuma said the targeting of unarmed and innocent civilians was deplorable. On Friday, a bomb attack at a Nairobi market left 10 people dead and scores wounded.“The South African government reiterates its condemnation of all forms and manner of terrorism. South Africa believes that terrorism, in any form and from whichever quarter cannot be condoned.”Zuma also called on the people of the Central African Republic to work towards peace in their country. “The people of the CAR have endured enough strife and conflict. We urge all leaders in the CAR to unite the people behind a common vision of peaceful co-existence and national unity.”He reiterated his full support for the African Union international support mission to the Central African Republic, while calling on all parties in the CAR to cooperate fully with the mission.Source: SAnews.gov
